California Street Featured Historical Building Everett
Known as the old YMCA on California Street and Rockefeller Avenue in Everett, Washington, this is a designated haunted place by locals. I personally have been in this building years ago, and parts of it you can feel something is not right. That feeling of not being alone when you are alone. As the saying goes, don't ignore your instincts. Much later, I heard about the place being haunted. Nearby on Lombard Avenue has a building of a completely different architecture and brick color. It was would be interesting to research the different brick manufacturing techniques.
The YMCA historical part that remains, at one time had a modern addition that was most of the building. It had full size basketball courts in the main gymnasium, multiple floors, racket ball courts, track for running, and a swimming pool. The old part that remains today was very creepy to be in alone. Track was on the upper floor, where as you ran around it you could look down over the basketball court.
California St and Wetmore Ave
You have now what is the Funco store. This building used to be the old Bon Marche Building was originally the The Rumbaugh-MacLain Department Store, and it was built in 1929. Although located on 2814 Wetmore Avenue, it occupies Wetmore all the way to the ally. This building opened right before the great depression of 1929. In 1944, The Bon Marche Department Store bought the building and took it over from The Rumbaugh-MacLain. It stayed there until 2004, a total of 60 years. I can remember the elevator being very old and creaky, like it was to breakdown at any moment.
