Colby Avenue Historical Building

The Everett Theatre was built in 1863 and located on 2911 Colby Avenue but was known as the Town Hall and Opera House. It burned in a fire in 1918, and was resurrected as the Opera House on September 1, 1919. The theatre is located on Colby Ave just south of Hewitt Ave in North Everett. On Wall Street there is a very spooky large old building too. I will be changing the picture out once the leaves drop with one that has not hidden the theatre behind them.

King 5 News Story, circa 1995

In fact, back in 1995 King 5 did a story on this old building being haunted. There have been many ghost sightings over the 20th Century that led up this story on King 5. I have been going to this theatre for many, many years. Even back in the 1970s, this building felt very off, scary inside no matter what time of day. Always dark, weird drafts of cold air, sometimes suddenly chilly bathrooms. Just an overall uncomfortable feeling inside the building. Not enough to drive you away, but that feeling of a least a lot of trapped memories of the past. Doors refusing to stay closed or closing. Jackets suddenly falling after being hung, squeaks and creaks, all of it has been witnessed at the Everett's Haunted Theatre.

Known as JAB, he is a very talented photographer that will be shooting pictures for our site to replace and supplement all future pictures that we use. At first, we will use his replacement photos along side our current photos to display the sharp contrast in the novice phone photos we have used with those of a truly talented photographer. This will make it very easy after viewing a few of his photos to recognize his work whenever or wherever you see it.

Jon plans to use the backdrops abundantly provided by nature of the beautiful Pacific Northwest as well as sunsets and sunrises in the downtown area to display his distinct style to the historical culture of the downtown area. We look forward to his take on the landmarks of this area.

One element that we are anticipating from JAB is that of the scenes he will shoot from this street of the bay and mountains, the down hill shots with sunsets and sunrises when possible. We are anticipating the fabulous shots he will be providing us with his unique distinct style that is his alone. JAB is a true artist with a camera.
