Colby Avenue Historical Building

The Everett Theatre was built in 1863 and located on 2911 Colby Avenue but was known as the Town Hall and Opera House. It burned in a fire in 1918, and was resurrected as the Opera House on September 1, 1919. The theatre is located on Colby Ave just south of Hewitt Ave in North Everett. On Wall Street there is a very spooky large old building too. I will be changing the picture out once the leaves drop with one that has not hidden the theatre behind them.

King 5 News Story, circa 1995

In fact, back in 1995 King 5 did a story on this old building being haunted. There have been many ghost sitings over the 20th Century that led up this story on King 5. I have been going to this theatre for many, many years. Even back in the 1970s, this building felt very off, scary inside no matter what time of day. Always dark, weird drafts of cold air, sometimes suddenly chilly bathrooms. Just an overall uncomfortable feeling inside the building. Not enough to drive you away, but that feeling of a least a lot of trapped memories of the past. Doors refusing to stay closed or closing. Jackets suddenly falling after being hung, squeaks and creaks, all of it has been witnessed at the Everett's Haunted Theatre.
